Biography
Tim Godfrey is a multi-award-winning Nigerian gospel music artist, songwriter and producer. He has been active in the gospel music scene since 2006 and has released several albums and singles that have garnered millions of streams worldwide. With his inspiring lyrics and captivating beats, he has become a household name in the Nigerian music industry.
Early Life
Tim Godfrey was born in Ijebu Ode, a city in Ogun State, Nigeria on February 25, 1982. He had an early interest in music and started singing at age 13 when he joined a church choir. He also learned to play instruments such as the piano, saxophone and guitar during his teenage years.
Career
In 2006, Tim Godfrey released his debut album titled “Pure Worship” which was well received by the public. Since then, he has released several studio albums including “Unlimited Praise” (2009), “Grace & Glory” (2011) and “Fearless” (2015). His singles have also made waves in the gospel music scene such as “Chimobim” and “Na You Be God” which were both well received by audiences across Africa.
Awards
Throughout his career, Tim Godfrey has received numerous awards from organizations such as the African Gospel Music Awards, Nigerian Gospel Music Awards and Crystal Awards. In 2019, he was awarded the Best African Gospel Artist at the 2019 Crystal Awards held in Johannesburg, South Africa.
